5 Reasons to Visit Fort Morgan in the Fall

Fort Morgan is a fantastic vacation destination any time of the year, but the area especially comes to life in the fall. With the cooler weather comes exciting activities and fun for the whole family. Here are five reasons why you should plan your Fort Morgan vacation for this autumn.

Our Gulf Shores and Fort Morgan beach rentals put you right in the middle of the action, giving you access to everything that makes this area unbelievable in the fall.

Fantastic Weather

While the summer sun can be almost unbearable, fall brings a much more tolerable temperature to Fort Morgan. With highs in the upper 70s and lows in the mid-60s, the weather is great all day long, and you only need a light jacket in the evenings when the breeze picks up. You’ll be totally comfortable doing everything from strolling the boardwalk to fishing to catching dinner and some live music. The best part? The water is still warm while the sand is cool enough to stroll as long as you wish.

Fun Local Fall Events

One of the best parts about for Morgan in the fall is all of the incredible local events. Check out the National Shrimp Festival or the Annual Oyster Cookoff and Craft Beer Weekend for some of the best cuisine in the area, or visit during the John L. Borom Alabama Coastal Birdfest for a closer look at the beautiful wildlife.

Into sports? We’ve got the USSSA Baseball World Series, the Run the Beach Half Marathon, or the Flora-Bama Fishing Rodeo. Don’t forget the great happenings around Halloween and Thanksgiving, too! No matter what you’re into, there’s a festival for it just minutes away from our Gulf Shores home rentals!

Drink on the Beach

One of the downsides to Gulf Shores is that it is illegal to drink on the beach, but next door in Fort Morgan, you can bring your cocktail and sip it on the shore. There are plenty of beachside hangouts for you to visit and grab your favorite drink, or you can mix your own and stroll along the sand while you enjoy the sun or let the waves crash at your feet. Fall is a great time to do this, as the weather is great and the mood is light, creating the perfect backdrop for your evenings.

Great Fishing

Whether you’ve been fishing for years or are just starting out, there are tons of spots to cast your line, or you can book a fishing charter for a fun adventure with an experienced guide.
