Steeped in history and surrounded by water, Gulf Shores is bountiful with beauty is just waiting to be explored by all who come to visit. The only thing more important that what you choose to do is how you choose to do it. Here are a few of our favorite ways to get around Gulf Shores activities.
Jump on a Segway
Take a ride through the Hugh S. Branyon Backcountry Trail with Coastal Segway Adventures. Explore miles of the beautiful trails that weave through Gulf State Park in Gulf Shores and Orange Beach.
You’ll see wildlife, get to stop at the Boulder Park and Butterfly Garden, and enjoy time in nature…without all the fuss of having to hike!
Ride a Bike
Speaking of hitting trails, the trail system at Bon Secour National Wildlife Refuge contains 7,000 acres of wildlife habitat while the aforementioned Backcountry Trail is 14+ miles of winding trails for bikers (and walkers and runners, too!). While you cruise either of these locations, keep an eye out for bunnies, birds, snakes, alligators, deer, turtles, and even bobcats!
Tip: the city of Gulf Shores has a bike trail maintained from Highway 59 along the north side of Fort Morgan road to the Peninsula Golf Community
Southern Rose Dolphin Cruises (also parasailing) guarantee you’ll see dolphins during your tour. Departing from Happy Harbor Marina in Orange Beach, cruises are between 1.5 and 2 hours long. If you’re staying on Fort Morgan, Gulf Adventures Fishing offers dolphin (and fishing) cruises within a few minutes from your rental house.
Get Back to Nature
At the end of a long day be sure to escape the sound of cars and people and enjoy all the wildlife Gulf Shores has to offer. Rent a kayak, canoe or stand-up paddleboard from any of the dozens of local rental loc
